About This Vessel
There’s always a few catamarans out there for sale, mostly slow heavy European mass produced models, but always there are few performance cruisers – or cruising boats that have comfort and enough speed to race competitively. This is the exception.
The Schionning 1250X is a rare example. Extended to 13.44m overall for better performance. Lightweight epoxy composite duflex / duracore /epoxy construction, big rig, daggerboards, plenty of go fast bits and lot of speed, yet all the comforts of home with alacantra leather seating, a galley up on the main bridge deck, 2 queen cabins and loads of room. The hulls were built tough with extra Kevlar to the waterline and extra bridge deck stringers for hull stiffness, the whole boat built in epoxy resins. The rudders are larger than design for low speed responsiveness.
This vessel has been very little used as the owner has been working overseas. The boat motors and sails as it should but the interior has been kept Spartan for performance and in some respects needs final finishing – galley notably, where you can decide your final fit out. We think that’s a good thing ……. it’s a blank canvas for you to finish these personal areas to your preferences and taste. Yet you can still go sailing, – fast, and go now.
In late 2017 early 2018 the deck was repainted, the standing rigging and much of the running rigging was completely replaced with new and all the electronics and some of the electrical was all replaced, so all new displays, wind instruments, GPS, sounder, autopilot, log and speed in early 2018.
Allyacht Spars performance rig, Mylex Sails and Yanmar sail drives with very low hours provide the propulsion.
At under 450k, this vessel represents an excellent opportunity for anyone wanting a late model performance cat with upgraded rig and electronics.
