Firstly there are some big changes at Peter Hansen, after 14 years Robbie Somers has decided to retire and enjoy a more relaxing life. So if you see him cruising around the bay on his Island Gypsy 36 “Serene” make sure you say hello and wish him and Beverley the best for their retirement. Allan, Gail, Joy, Tori and Ashleigh will all be staying on with the business and helping to look after your boating needs.
My name is Don Home and I live locally with my wife and two chocolate Labradors. As the new owner of Peter Hansen Yacht Brokers and the new Marina Manager of Raby Bay Marina I am looking forward to meeting everyone, so next time you are in the area feel free to drop in and say Hi. I grew up boating on Moreton Bay and have enjoyed the magnificent waterways we have available with family and friends for a long time and hopefully for a long time to come. My wife Robyn and I have recently returned from living in California for the past 8 years and have settled back into the life here in Raby Bay.
As an introductory offer and also to support a great cause we will be a running a fuel promotion during the month of May…yes, it is our famous six cents off a litre promo! Everyone can get the six cents off per litre if they donate a minimum of a gold coin to the Shag Islet Cruising Yacht Club - Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia charity. I hope that everyone will consider donating more to this worthy cause.
We have put together some exciting plans to expand the range of services that we will offer to all our customers to make their boating more relaxing and enjoyable. These will be rolled out gradually over the next 12 months and we will make sure we keep you up to date with our progress. Fuel Discount Offer!
6 cents a litre off the regular price for for all of May 2018
Our amazing fuel discount is back, this time exclusively for anybody who donates $1 or more at time of purchase of the fuel to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Queensland. Supporters will receive a discount of 6 cents per litre off the standard fuel price for premium unleaded and diesel fuels for all of May 2018. No other discounts apply. Just put some cash in the donation tin!. Although we have a $1 minimum for eligibility we would encourage you to give as much as you can to this worthy cause.
Raby Bay Marina has Premium Unleaded, Diesel with high and low flow pumps on two floating fingers adjacent the marina office. If you haven't been here before, here's a chart. We are at the southern end of the Endeavour Canal near the boardwalk and restaurants.

Shag Islet Cruising Yacht Club Rendezvous
The many Vice Commodores of the SICYC - there are now over 6000 of them worldwide - their friends and guests are currently making their way north in a series of events and functions called “the Season of Sail” before the annual rendezvous near Bowen. They will be in Gold Coast waterways from 12-18thMay and in Moreton Bay 23rd May anchoring in the Bay just to the north of Raby Bay Marina. A 9thBirthday party of the Club is being held in Raby Bay Hogs Breath restaurant that evening. For more information see SICYC Newsletter No 79

Notices to Mariners - Brisbane and Southport Pilotage Area
There are some recent changes for Mariners in the local area. For full details see these links to Brisbane Pilotage Area and Soutport Pilotage Area. There are beacon works at Peel Island planned that will affect most operating in our area.
Peel Island beacon works
Mariners are advised that beacon maintenance is being conducted along the Western side of Peel island from the Starboard Lateral in approximate position latitude 27° 30.262'S longitude 153° 19.198'E to the Starboard Lateral in approximate position latitude 27° 31.176'S longitude 153° 21.249'E in between 20th April 2018 and the 4th May 2018.
Mariners are requested to pass at slow speed and minimal wash
