Frequently Asked Questions

Can I look at a boat this weekend?

Our Boat Brokers are in the office Monday to Friday and available on weekends by appointment only.  Not all of our boats are here at the Marina so we may need to make arrangements to view a particular boat.

What time are you open for Fuel?

Fuel is available from 8:30 to 4:30pm on weekdays and 8:30 to 4pm on weekends.  The office and fuel sales are closed on Public Holidays.

How do I go about buying a boat?

Buying a boat is nothing like buying a car!  Every boat is different as owners tend to like customising them to suit their own requirements.  Sitting and talking to one of our very knowledgeable brokers is the first step to finding the perfect boat for you.

Should I get a survey on the boat I am going to buy?

The simple answer is YES.  We strongly recommend to all of our clients to get an out of the water pre-purchase survey of any boat that they are buying.  We also recommend an engine inspection by a qualified marine mechanic.  If you don’t know one then we are happy to recommend some for you.

Should I buy a sail or power boat?

This is a great question and one that we discuss in the office quite regularly.  The correct answer is “It Depends” and it really does depend on a lot of factors, such as;

  • do you like the journey or the destination?
  • what is cheaper to own?
  • do you intend to stay in Moreton Bay or cruise the Great Barrier Reef?
  • How much time do you have for leisure?
  • and many more

Talk to one of our brokers and let them help you find out what boat will really suit you and your lifestyle.

Should I buy a Petrol or Diesel Power Boat?

As a general rule if you are going to go long distances then the answer would be diesel for most power boats.  If you are planning on just cruising around the bay then both diesel and petrol are both viable options.  Give us a call and we can help you through the pros and cons of both and maybe save you a lot of time and heartache!

What is the best boat to buy?

The best boat for you will be the one that you can afford to not only purchase but maintain in good condition for as long as you have it.  It doesn’t have to be the biggest or best but if your boat puts a smile on your face each time you get aboard then that is what really matters.  Let us help you find that dream boat and keep you smiling.

How do I go about selling my boat?

When the time comes that you either want to get a different boat to what you have now or you have decided that you aren’t going to go boating again then come and talk to use about how we would sell your boat.  It isn’t as simple as just putting an ad on one of the boat markets.  Selling a boat and getting the best price for it takes time, patience and skill and we are happy to help you.
